ESSEX BUILDING PLANNED TO BE REDEVLOPED AS ATTRACTIVE UPSCALE RENTAL LOFT APARTMENTS

Essex Building may be redeveloped into Essex House Lofts hoping to begin  February 2016 .  Tom Fortin will spearhead efforts to preserve the fashionable building located at Mulberry and Columbus Streets on the edge of Downtown Lancaster.

“We plan a multi-million dollar renovation of one of Lancaster’s architectural jewels”, Fortin said.  Future  residents will occupy 49 loft apartments (One and Two Bedroom) with 117 reserved parking  spaces and over 9,000 sf of retail shop space along Columbus Street.  The New York style lofts will average 1,032 sf and have rental pricing ranging from $695 to $1265 monthly.     The lofts are also available for purchase as condominiums with pricing from $97,500 to $279,900

Some highlight features will include 12 ‘ ceilings,  large windows, hardwood floors, exposed brick interiors walls ,indoor secured parking garage, fitness gym, storage areas, new contemporary kitchens and tiled baths.   Relaxation Gardens, walkways with fountains, plantings, outdoor gourmet grilles, park benches, coffee cart and so much more.   “The interiors will be extremely hip and very cool, like you would see now in urban villages in New York, Chicago and LA.  This is the first of its kind in Lancaster.  Fortin has successfully developed similar lofts in Columbus.

“We will seek to find retailers for the first floor including the like of a fitness center, coffee shop, brew pub, art studio, dance studio, cleaners, cafe, photo studio, offices and other services for the residents in the historical neighborhood” Fortin said..  We will soon meet with City officials, local lenders, Realtors, media soon to begin our marketing efforts.
